This lunch event, organized by FutureBoards and NORSIF, was an unique occasion to meet, discuss and exchange ideas on the future of corporate governance with Professor Mervyn E. King, one of the most influential people in corporate governance.

Professor King is Chair of the King Commission on Corporate Governance for South Africa, Chair of the International Integrated Reporting Council, Chairman Emeritus of the Global Reporting Initiative – and a prominent voice in corporate governance for over two decades.

Other speakers included Idar Kreutzer, CEO of Finance Norway, Jamie Lyon, Potofolio Head, ACCA, Kjetil Rimstad, partner EY Norway and Baard Annweiler, Managing Director, MISSION AS. Welcome address were held by Bjørn Stolpestad, Chair Norsif and Turid E. Solvang, Founder/CEO FutureBoards. Also, we presented results from FutureBoards and Zynk’s big-data survey on topics for the future agenda of boards of directors. The discussion was moderated by Dina Medland, independent writer and commentator, ex-Financial Times and Forbes contributor.

Among our topics were:

  • What are the key impacts of trends and developments in corporate governance?
  • How can businesses respond, in order to create long-term value?
  • What do investors care about, and which role should they take?

FORMAT: Lunch event – speeches and panel discussion. A light lunch, coffee and refreshments will be provided.
